Vredespaleis

Nooit geweest maar veel van buiten gezien: het vredespaleis! Er zetelen nogal wat instanties en heeft veel historische waarde. Klik hier voor meer info en zie hieronder een korte beschrijving. Alleen al omdat Den Haag de eer heeft, de naam zo mooi is en vrede iets is waar we allemaal naar blijven streven.

CARNEGIE FOUNDATION - PEACE PALACE
The Carnegie Foundation is the managing authority in the Peace Palace and has a magnificent library, a rich source of legal information at the service of peace and justice. The Carnegie Foundation is the host to the international institutions in the Peace Palace, and also serves as an intermediary to the Hague Academy of International Law with its annual well known summer courses in international law. The Carnegie Foundation encourages the dialogue and study of the peace ideal through seminars, and the Foundation belongs to an international network of Carnegie Institutions.

The Peace Palace and the beautiful gardens are a lively monument for a number of important legal institutions. The International Court of Justice, The Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Hague Academy of International Law and the Peace Palace Library. The Carnegie Foundation is the official host of these institutions. At the same time the Carnegie Foundation endeavours to open the Peace Palace to international conferences about relevant themes of law, environment, diplomatic relations, public/private international partnerships, human rights, and migration to name a few. The project to create a new wing next to the palace, devoted to the library and the Academy will make this approach all the more possible.
